Norma Vogel, formerly of Marshall, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018, at the age of 95.
Norma was born April 19, 1923, along with her twin sister, Noreen. They were two of four daughters born to George and Gertie (Van Hauen) Weber on the Weber homestead north of Marshall.
She spent her maturing years on the family farm, and was educated at the Marshall school for 12 years.
After graduating from Marshall High School in 1941, she attended Enid Business College. Upon graduation, she worked in Enid until 1946.
Norma married Samuel "Sam" Vogel the year after his return from service in WWII. They established their home on the Vogel farm east of Marshall.
Following the death of Sam in 1998, Norma remained on the farm. In 2012, she left the farm and moved to Tulsa where she enjoyed the remainder of her years at University Village.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam; son, Sammie; sisters, Lillian, Luella, and Noreen; and her parents.
She is survived by her two daughters: Marilyn Carroll and her husband Jack, who reside in Edmond; and Beverly Baker and her husband Jonathan, who reside in Tulsa. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Brenda Vogel Tripp, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; other relatives; her church family; and many friends.
Service is 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 25, 2018, at St Paul's United Church of Christ in Marshall, with interment following at the Lion's North Cemetery, Marshall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marshall Cemetery Fund or the Marshall Volunteer Fire Department.
