Rachel Mae Hilderbrand Reisch Taylor
Rachel Hilderbrand was born in Decator, Illinois, Aug. 18, 1848 and died at Marshall, Okla. April 4, 1920, aged 71 years, 4 months, and 16 days.
She spent her childhood and young womanhood there where she married Christopher Reisch on Dec. 25, 1866. Eight children were born to this union, six girls and two boys. Two of the daughters, Mrs. Lucy Reisch Suran and Miss Minnie Reisch preceded their mother to the better land. The living children are Otis Reisch, of Douglas; Mrs. Susan Reed, of Marshall; Hattie Treadwell of Calif.; Mrs. Clara Brownfield, Tonkawa; Mrs. Jennie Wilcox of Blackwell; and John Reisch of Augusta , KS. All the children except Mrs. Treadwell were here to look upon the face of the mother for the last time.

Mr. and Mrs Reisch moved to Oklahoma soon after the opening of the strip and bought a homestead north east of Marshall. Mr. Reisch , being infirmed and was unable to work, moved to Marshall fourteen years ago. He died July 21, 1914.

Mrs. Reisch was married to Will H. Taylor on July 22, 1916.

Mrs. Taylor united with the Christian Church at Princeton, Kansas about 32 years ago. She had a happy disposition and always had a cheery word for those with whom she came in contact.

She died at Marshall, April 4, 1920, leaving her husband, six children, 23 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and many friends to mourn her departure.

Funeral services were held at the Christian Church conducted by Undertaker Brooks. The remains were laid to rest beside her former husband in the Marshall Cemetey.
