Louie Edward Reim left us to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009.
He was born Jan. 15, 1921, on a farm southeast of Kremlin, Okla., the first-born son of Louis George and Lydia Elizabeth Kunard Reim. He attended schools in Billings, Hunter, Tonkawa and Covington and graduated from Marshall High School in 1938.
In 1939, he married his high school sweetheart, Luella L. Schleeter. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary with family and friends. To this union was born Terry Duane, Denton K. and Darla Jean.
Louie attended Oklahoma State University after high school and managed Cham-plin Service Station in Marshall for several years before going into the business of farming wheat and raising cattle. He retired as a Logan County agent for Oklahoma Farm Bureau Insurance in 1979.
He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Marshall and was active in the Marshall community serving on the church board, Marshall Co-op Board and Marshall Town Board and was a 50-year member of Marshall Lions Club. After retirement, he and Luella enjoyed many years of RV traveling with friends and Good Sam Club.
Louie was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Gloria, Glorine and Theola; one son, Terry; and a great-granddaughter, Alexandra.
Survivors include his wife Luella of the home; son Denton of Marshall; daughter, Darla and son-in-law George Beeby of Chandler; brother, Milton Reim of Brenham, Texas; eight grandchildren along with their spouses; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorials in Louie's honor many be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ at P.O. Box 238, Marshall, OK 73056. Serv-ices are under the direction of Abernathy Aaron Funeral Home, Crescent.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. today, Oct. 30, 2009, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Marshall.
