ENID — Harold Johnson, 88, of Garber, was born on Aug. 12, 1922, in Skiatook, to William and Wynona (Hickle) Johnson. He passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid.
On Nov. 3, 1946, he married Catherine Irene Rhoades in Cleveland, Okla. She preceded him in death on Jan. 7, 2007.
Harold served his country as a member of the U.S. Army Air Force. He was a veteran of World War II, where he received the WWII Victory Medal and the American Theatre Ribbon.
He worked for Sinclair Oil and Gas for 25 years and ARCO Oil for 13 years.
Harold was a member of the Masonic Lodge 80. He received his 32nd Degree through the Scottish Rite Consistory in May of 1979, Guthrie. On July 19, 1986,
he became a member of the Akdar Shrine of Tulsa. He received his 50-year service award from the Masonic Lodge on April 13, 1997. He was a perpetual member and active on the stage crew for many years.
Funeral services will be 2p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at the Garber United Methodist Church, with Paul Babiak officiating. Interment will be in Garber Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Dugger Funeral Home of Garber.
Memorials may be made to Garber United Methodist Church or Garber Alumni Association in care of Dugger Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66, Garber, OK. 73738.
Harold is survived by three sons, Richard Johnson and his wife, Denise, of DeSoto, Texas, Stephen Johnson and his wife, Sheryll, of Cypress, Texas, David Johnson and his wife, Linda, of Garber; one brother, Billy Ray Johnson of Hobbs, New Mexico; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine; his parents, and one sister, Roma June Baker.
