Funeral Services for Alan Hermanski, age 69, of Garber, Oklahoma, who passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021, will be held at Ladusau-Evans Chapel on Monday, September 13, 2021, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the Garber Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 12, from 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home. The service may be viewed online at www.ladusauevans.com. Alan was born as David Alan Hermanski to Jack and Louella Hermanski of Garber on November 3, 1951. He grew up on a farm outside of Garber and attended Hunter schools, graduating with honors in 1970. He attended college at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, where he was a member of Farm House Fraternity, graduating with honors in 1974 with a Bachelor's degree in accounting. Upon graduation, Alan returned to Garber, where he owned and operated a farming and cattle operation with his dad in the Garber/Hunter area. He was privileged to be part of the AG Leadership Program where he traveled globally to learn agricultural practices from other cultures. In addition to farming, Alan worked for the Garfield County Extension Services and Garber Co-op.
In 1984, Alan met the love of his life, Christy Stanley. They were instantly drawn to each other and convinced this was the partner God had chosen for them. Their love bloomed and continued to grow for 36 years. After knowing each other just 6 months, they were united in marriage on December 29, 1984. In 1987, God blessed them with a son, Brent Austin, and in 1988, a daughter, Suzanne Marie. Alan loved them very much, devoting most of his time showing them by example the Savior who loves them, playing with them, and teaching them how to work.
Alan gave his life to the Lord in 1972. This was evident to all who knew him. He always had an active presence in church, most recently attending Crossings Community Church in Edmond. Alan and Christy volunteered as a team for Campus Life where they touched many lives of Garber students. Alan put Christian principles into practice in every area of his life and blessed those around him in innumerable ways. He had a very devoted commitment to his family and never missed an event or opportunity to pour quality time into the lives of his family members, including two grandchildren, Fletcher Lars and Anika Ruby Severin. He enjoyed sharing the outdoors with Christy on many hiking excursions, where on one occasion his feet got so sore, he declared he'd never do it again, but he did.
In 2007, Alan traded farming for a new position that continued his stewardship of the land, working for the Commissioners of the Land Office as a Real Estate Management Specialist. His work covered an area of 7 counties, ensuring that the Oklahoma school farm lands were being well maintained and helping to provide funding for Oklahoma's schools. Alan was actively working and enjoying this position right up to his passing.
He is survived by his wife Christy Hermanski of Garber; father Jack Hermanski of Garber; son Brent Hermanski of Garber; daughter Suzanne and her husband Ralf Severin of Richmond Hill, Georgia; grandson Fletcher and granddaughter Anika Severin of Richmond Hill, Georgia; two sisters, Brenda Reinschmiedt and Rhonda Koch of Garber; sisters-in-law Anita Bishop and Peggy Pierce; brother-in-law Stephen Stanley; many aunts, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother Louella Hermanski (Goodwin).
