Funeral service for Elisha (E.J.) Crabtree, 89, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home, with Rev. Grady Bohannan officiating. Burial will follow in Garber Cemetery. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
Elisha was born Feb. 7, 1924, in Fort Gay, W.V., to Elisha and Frankie (Graves) Crabtree and passed away Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, in Enid.
Elisha attended school in Mann, W.V., and joined the United States Air Force in 1942, serving until 1946. He was stationed at Enid Army Air Force Base in Enid, Okla., and served in China. He was awarded the Bronze Service Star, a citation from the Chinese government.
After his discharge, he worked for Sinclair Oil Co. later known as ARCO, retiring after 35 years.
On Dec. 6, 1943, he married Erma Mae Bruce in Enid at Central Christian Church.
Elisha was a member of Garber Christian Church, V.F.W., I.0.0.F., and Garber Lion’s Club. He served two years as Justice of Peace in Garber.
Elisha is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Ream (Caral) of Enid; son, Glenn Crabtree (Frances) of Guthrie; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Erma in 2001; three brothers and three sisters.
Memorials may be made to Disabled Veterans or Hospice Circle of Love.
