Celebration of Life service for Anna Mae Brakhage, 87, of Enid, Okla., formerly of the Hunter community, will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, at Ladusau-Evans Chapel, with the Rev. Scott Ray officiating. Burial will follow at Garber Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Ann was born Jan. 5, 1927, near Garber, Okla., to Frank and Mary Simunek Sebranek Sr. and passed away Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2014, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

Ann grew up in the Garber community, where she attended and graduated from Garber High School in 1945. She later attended a beauty college in Oklahoma City.

As a young lady, she worked as a beautician at the Modern Wave.

Ann was a stay at home mom, where she helped with the farming and the raising of her family.

Ann married Willard Brakhage on May 10, 1949, in Enid, celebrating 65 years.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Garber, LWML, Nu-Way Club, Merry Matrons Club, Roadrunner Square Dancers Club, Hunter Canasta Club, and playing cards with family and friends.

Ann was an accomplished seamstress, making several wedding dresses for her family. She enjoyed Polka dancing.

Survivors include her husband, Willard; three daughters, Barbara and Mike Letteer of Garber, Sandra and Terry Schovanec of Hunter, and Wanda and Fred White of Garber; son, Ron Brakhage of Garber; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Frankie Sebranek and wife Joyce of Garber; three sisters, Libby Cinnamon and husband Ray Gene of Garber, Marcella Mears and husband Galen of Eldorado, Kan., and Wilma Worth of Moore, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
