August 6, 1936 - December 22, 2021

Venus Marie (Watkins) Easley, age 85, of Enid, Oklahoma, formerly of Garber, Oklahoma, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at her home in Enid, Oklahoma.

Celebration of Life Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2021, at the Garber Cemetery, with Calvin Andrews of the Emmanuel Baptist Church officiating, under the direction of the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home. Visitation hours will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 26, 2021, at the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Garber, Oklahoma. Venus Marie Watkins Easley was born August 6, 1936, in Hugoton, Kansas, to Walter Lee and Marie Venus (Hawk) Prather. She grew up in Hugoton and attended school in Hugoton.

On July 13, 1952, Venus married Billy Watkins in Raton, New Mexico. The couple made their home in Garber and Enid, Oklahoma. Venus drove a school bus for Garber Schools and did maintenance. She later cleaned Conoco Phillips buildings. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Enid, Oklahoma.

Survivors include three daughters, Gayle Leader of Enid, Oklahoma, Stephanie Wilson of Mannford, Oklahoma, and Dana Foster of Enid, Oklahoma; two granddaughters, Shannon Poindexter of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Jamie Leader of Jenks, Oklahoma; two great-grandsons, Chris and Nathan Poindexter, both of Ponca City, Oklahoma; and one brother, Walter Prather of Grove, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and three brothers.
