Phyllis Jean Barrett Zimmerman, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2018.
She was born on May 5, 1932, to Thomas and Bertha Barrett in Enid. Phyllis was married to Edwin Charles Zimmerman, Sr. July 9, 1950, and they had a loving marriage of 54 years, until Ed's passing in 2004.
She spent many years working as a telephone operator, first at Southwestern Bell and later at Kerr-McGee Petroleum where she retired as "Chief PBX Operator" in 1979.
After retirement, Phyllis and Ed owned and operated PJ's Young Fashions in Bethany.
She was preceded in death by her parents and older sister, Laura Seapy, and half-brother, Richard Renfro.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Debra Lawson and husband Jerry, and her son, Edwin C. Jr. and wife Carol.
She was "Grandma" to her loving grandchildren, Misti Calvitti (and husband Mike), Jerry Lawson Jr., Thomas Lawson (and fiancé Jessica), Summer McDaniel (and husband Max), Gabriel Zimmerman; and, great-grandchildren, Ethan and Emma McDaniel, and Cooper Lawson.
Phyllis was "Aunt Pull" to her loving niece, Karen Scruggs (and husband Chuck), and nephew, Charles Seapy, Jr. (and wife Pam) and their children.
Funeral service is 10:00 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2019, at Mercer-Adams Funeral Home, Bethany.
