A Celebration of Life for Ann Young, 83, of Dover and formerly of Enid, will be 1 p.m. Monday, August 29, 2016, at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Fred Jones officiating. The interment will follow in the Enid Cemetery.
Miss Young was born April 14, 1933 in Enid, OK and passed away August 23, 2016.
Ann was a graduate of Enid High School in 1951. She was employed in several capacities for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for more than thirty years. Over the years, she pursued an interest in the Enid real estate market. Ann was an active member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Enid Senior Center. She will be remembered for her care and consideration of her extended family and her love for animals. She spent her last years living on the farm with her sister Marilyn.
Survivors include her sister, Marilyn Pickle of Dover, OK; two brothers, Edward Brummett of Concordia, KS, Jerry Marsh of Ellsworth, KS; a sister-in-law, Joy Young of Nokomis, IL; fourteen nieces and nephews and numerous grand-nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed an especially close relationship with her nephew Charles Pickle, regaling him with stories of his mother's younger days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Stuart Young, and a sister, Bessie Jo Leonard; and step-fathers, Andrew Marsh and Pete Brummett.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Enid SPCA, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home custodian of the funds.
