Mass of Christian burial for Harvey J. White, 79, will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2009, at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. The Rev. Larry Kowalski will officiate. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery . Arrangements are by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

He was born Aug. 2, 1929, in Enid to Harvey Stephen and Catherine Barbara Apel White and died Sunday, April 19, 2009, at The Commons.

He graduated from Waukomis High School and served in the Army from 1955 to 1956. He was stationed in Molesworth, England, where he met his wife, Gillian "Jill" Lawton of Birmingham, England. They were married July 12, 1957, in Enid. He worked for Northcutt Chevrolet and then Northrop Worldwide Aircraft until his retirement. He also farmed south of Enid, retiring in 1999. He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church and a volunteer at St. Gregory's Food Pantry.

Surviving are his wife, Jill, of the home; one daughter, Kerry Jill McKaig of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to St. Gregory's Food Pantry or Enid SPCA.
