The funeral for Cecil Washburn, 86, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Liberty Southern Baptist Church. Jerry Holt, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery. Arrangements are by Hennin-ger-Allen Funeral Home.
He was born Oct. 23, 1919, in Enid to Frank A. and Flossie Blanchard Washburn and died Thursday, June 30, 2005, at the Living Center.
He attended Enid schools. He married Dorothea May Taylor Jan. 28, 1939. They lived in Enid where he worked for General Mills from 1943 to 1981. During World War II, he served with the Navy on the USS Ticonderoga aircraft carrier in the South Pacific. He was a member of Liberty Southern Baptist Church where he served as Deacon.
Surviving are one son, Albert, of Enid; six granchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by his wife, Dorothea, one son, two sisters and two brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the church.
