Virginia was born to Russell and Nellie (Warrick) Green on Dec. 5, 1919, in Enid, and passed away Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, at her home in Tulsa. Virginia graduated from Enid High School in1937. She attended Phillips University and Chickasaw Women's College.
Virginia married Lewis McKinney in Enid. They moved to Bartlesville, where Lewis was the manager of Chenoweth and Green Music. They later purchased the store and it became McKinney Music Company. They lived in Bartlesville for 30 years, before Lewis's death in 1982.
In Tulsa, Virginia met and married Harold Turner. They spent many years traveling the United States in their motorhome. Harold died in 2008. Until her death, Virginia lived in her home in Tulsa with the help of her son Mark and his wife Margo. Without their help, she would not have been able to live and die in her own home. Billy Bell was a nurse, caretaker, and friend of Virginia's for ten years. The entire family is thankful for Billy.
Virginia is survived by her children: Phil McKinney and wife Dixie of Enid, Mark McKinney and wife Margo of Tulsa, and Ann McKinney Pollard of Tulsa; granddaughter Nicole Smith and husband Jason, along with their children Emily and Jason.
Virginia was preceded in death by her two husbands, and son Frank McKinney.
