Funeral services for William R. Towell, 66, 401 S. 20th, who died Monday afternoon in a Watonga hospital of injuries suffered in a highway accident, will be held at 2 PM Thursday at Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel.

Rev. Floyd Strater will officiate with burial in the Enid Cemetery.

Towell, an employee of the Enid post office for 15 years, was a member of the First Christian Church and American Legion. He was a World War I veteran.

He was fatally injured Sunday afternoon when his car collided with a truck loaded with steel at a highway intersection 9 miles west of Watonga. He and his wife were returning from Altus, where they had been visiting friends, at the time of the accident.

Mrs. Towell was injured in the crash, and is recovering. She returned to her home in Enid Tuesday.

Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Mary Frances Abram, Altus; two sons, Robert F. Towell of Enid, and Wendell R. Towell, Torrence, California; one sister, Mrs. M. Alma Hockenberry, Enid, and five grandchildren.
