Alece was born on January 3, 1946 in Fairview, OK to her parents Ervin and Elsie (Gertz) John. She graduated from Blue Mound High School, Blue Mound, KS in 1964. One day after her graduation, on May 21, 1964, she married the love of her life Marvin Lee Teeter. With their two year old daughter Lisa, the Teeter’s moved to Gardner, KS in 1967 where Marvin worked as a maintenance engineer and Alece worked at Briar Industries, starting as a production assistant on the plastics line, ?where she quickly earned the position of Plant Manager. One year after moving to Gardner, Alece and Marvin were blessed by the birth of their youngest daughter Connie.

Alece had many fond memories of her years in Gardner, KS where she thoroughly enjoyed coaching softball for many of the children in the community. She was also actively involved in the Blue Birds and Camp Fire Girls Organizations. They relocated to Enid, OK in November of 1984 so that Marvin could work for Texaco. Alece was a homemaker and avid gardener who took pride in her many roses and lilacs. She also dedicated many years of service as a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid.

Alece is survived by her husband, Marvin, of the home; her mother, Elsie John of Enid, OK; her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Wayne Courtright of Enid, OK; her daughter Connie Teeter and her partner Lisa De Jesus of Kissimme, FL; four grandchildren: Spencer Sissney and her boyfriend Michael Brock of San Antonio, TX, Sydne Knapp and her husband Nathan of Derby,? KS, Kamie and Kaden De Jesus of Kissimmee, FL; and one great-grandchild Luca Knapp of Derby, KS. In addition, she is survived by her brother Ervin John, Jr. of Crescent, OK; her sister Donna Manthey, Enid, OK; her sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Rick Couch of Enid, OK; her sister and brother-in-law Connie and Ron Martin of Wellsville, KS; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews, too numerous to mention. She was preceded in death by her father Ervin John, her brother-in-law David Manthey, and her sister-in-law Robbie John. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at 10:00am in the Stittsworth Memory Chapel with Pastor Steve Meier officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow in Enid Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 25, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Stittsworth’s.

Marvin Lee Teeter of Enid, OK passed away on May 24, 2019 surrounded by his loving family.

Marvin was born on March 30, 1942 in Mound City, Kansas to Lewis and Ester (Scott) Teeter. Marvin married the love of his life, Alece (John) Teeter on May 21, 1964. Marvin retired from Texaco as a million-mile safe driver, and enjoyed traveling and casino-hopping whenever possible.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of over 50 years, and his brother Marion Teeter.

He is survived by his brother Lawrence Teeter of Mills Creek, OK, daughter Lisa Courtright and husband Wayne of Enid, OK, daughter Connie Teeter and partner Lisa DeJesus of Kissimmee, FL. granddaughter Spencer Sissney and boyfriend Michael Brock of San Antonio, TX, granddaughter Sydne Knapp and husband Nate of Vail, AZ, granddaughter Kamie DeJesus of Kissimmee, FL, grandson Kaden DeJesus of Kissimmee, FL, great-grandchildren Luca and Zara Knapp of Vail, AZ, numerous nieces, nephews and other close extended family members.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at Stittsworth Funeral Home in Enid, OK from 10am to 12pm on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, followed by interment in Enid Cemetery.
