ENID — TERRY ‘CHIEF’ SYLESTINE
Funeral service for Terry Rodney Sylestine, 74, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Gospel Light Baptist Church, with Pastor Steve Meier officiating. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visi-tation with family will be 5:30-7 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
Terry was born to Harry and Doris Sylestine on April 25, 1937, in Livingston, Texas, and died Friday, March 30, 2012, in Enid. Terry graduated from Big Sandy High School. On April 25, 1960, he married Leona Kotlan. Terry served in the U.S. Air Force and then worked at Vance AFB for 30 years. He was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church.
He is survived by three sons, Mike, Rod and David Sylestine, all of Enid; daughter, Kim Zuniga of Enid; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Thomas Sylestine; three sisters, JoAnn and Carol Battise, and Denise Sylestine. Terry was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Leona; brother, Alton Syestine; and sisters, Irma Gene Sylestine and Moree Poncho.
