Shawnee resident Joe Stephenson, 91, passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 in Norman, Oklahoma. Viewing will begin on Tuesday. Graveside services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Enid Cemetery in Enid, OK. Services are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service, Shawnee, OK.

Joe was born December 7, 1926 in Stillwater, Oklahoma to Joe and Opal Stephenson. He graduated from Enid High School in 1944. He later attended Phillips University and Oklahoma State University. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He married Betty (More) and they were married 57 years. He was member of the Elks Lodge and the American Legion. He was an avid golfer and sports fan, and he traveled extensively and visited every state in America.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Betty; a daughter: Diane; a son: Joe; and 2 brothers: I.R., and Jim.

Survivors include 2 Daughters: Deborah Stephenson of Shawnee, Cathi Kidd of Shawnee; 5 Grandchildren: Tricia Carter of TN, Tiffani Swanson of AK, Chance Hooper of MN, Amanda Hooper of ID, Kyle Alexander of WA; 7 Great-Grandchildren; Sister: Judy Chambers of Enid,; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.
