The Memorial services celebrating and honoring the life of Arthur Staggs 74, of Enid, will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday September 20, 2021, in the Enid Cemetery with Pastor Gary Miller officiating. Complete cremation care and services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Arthur was born September 13, 1946, to Everett and Frances Jones Staggs in Enid, Oklahoma, and passed from this life September 10, 2021, in Enid.
He was raised and educated in Enid graduating from Enid High School with the class of 1966. From his parents he got a strong work ethic and was raised in a home filled with love. Arthur attended Enid Business College and worked at Vance Air Force Base as a fireman and retired as Crew Chief. He married Sherry Goins in December of 1968 and from that union came two children, Angela and Deric. Arthur, better known as Jim by his family, Cap, by his father and a "good man" by many others went on to provide for his family by doing many jobs in his off time. He set head stones for Pellow Monument, hand crafted beautiful furniture and would often lend a hand to friends in repairing and building just about anything. In 1979 Art gave his life to Christ and was baptized at Garriott Road Church of Christ. He married Dorothy Burdick March 4, 1989, in Enid, Oklahoma, which grew his family by the three children, Shane and Dusty Little and Pam Morgaridge. Dot and Art shared many wonderful lake days and time loving and caring for family. They shared a quiet and strong love only made stronger by their ornery quips. He wouldn't leave anyone stranded and aided stranded people more times than not. He had a love for dogs and every dog he ever owned became a part of a fond repertoire that he loved retelling.
He loved fishing and spent many an early morning fishing and teaching his kids ALL there is to know about fishing. That was his best dad quality ... he was a teacher and desired for his children to know how to do things for themselves like change tires, check oil, and the proper respect for firearms. He covered many bases but most importantly he instilled loyalty, compassion, and respect.
He is survived by three sons, Deric Staggs, Robert Little, and Dustin Little; two daughters, Angie Walters, and Pam Morgaridge; ten grandchildren, Riley, Caden, Ashely, Jordan, Drayden, Bella, Robbie, Rylee, Hayden and Adeline; and two great grandchildren, Rhett and Trevor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
