Funeral service for Mary M. Somers, 85, of Enid, Okla., will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Lesly Broadbent will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery.

Mary was born April 27, 1928, in Enid, the daughter of W.F. and Estella Boyer.

She was raised and educated in Covington, Okla., graduating in 1946.

Mary married Orville Somers on July 14, 1989. She raised three children that thought she was a wonderful mother.

Mary dedicated her life to the Lord and to her children. She was a member of the Willow View United Methodist Church.

She retired from Liberty Federal Savings Bank.

Mary was loved very much in return by her children and friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Towanda Kirkley and husband Garry, and Melody Scherich and Patty Montgomery; son, David Scherich and wife Kim; one granddaughter, Jessica Kirkley; and five stepgrandchidren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, W.F. and Estella; husband, Orville; one brother and five sisters; and one daughter, Crystal Ann.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
