Walter Edward Settles

June 4, 1927 - July 25, 1942

Walter Edward Settles, 15 years old, died Saturday afternoon in an Oklahoma City hospital. The youth made his home with his father, Walter E. Settles, his grandmother, Mrs. Addie Thrasher, and a brother, Duane, 16, at 418 S. Adams.

Funeral services were Tuesday afternoon in the Henninger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. B. M. Jackson, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Enid Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were B. Roy Daniel, T. W. Liming, Paul Mathiesen, James Williams, Reeve Gumerson, and Arthur Hayes.

Honorary pallbearers were Richard Cass, James Thomas, Leroy Glaser, John Christy, Jack Hildebrandt, and Gerald Alley.

Other survivors are a sister, Mrs. Claude Marquardt of Lahoma; his mother, Mrs. Floyd Riggs of Tampa, Texas, and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Treiber of Enid.
