Laura Louise (Barrett) Seapy, 88, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2017 in Edmond, OK.
She was born on July 16, 1929 in Enid, OK to Tom and Bertha Barrett. She graduated from Enid High School in 1947. Laura married Charlie Seapy in November 1948 in Enid, OK. They were happily married for 59 years, living in Enid, OK, Cedar Rapids, IA, Bethany, OK and Dallas, TX. She worked at Bell Telephone company, American Fidelity Assurance and Collins Radio under contract with NASA for a number of years. She enjoyed traveling and parading with Charlie and his classic automobiles. Retirement took Charlie and Laura to South Texas during the winter months, making many friends from throughout the country. Her greatest joy in life was loving her family unconditionally.
Laura is survived by her sister, Phyllis Zimmerman of Yukon; brother-in-law, John Feigner; son, Charles Seapy, Jr. and wife Pam of Norman; daughter, Karen Scruggs and husband Chuck of Edmond; grandchildren, Kevin Lytle and wife Heather, Katie Serfoss and husband Kyle, Jennifer Coleman and husband Ryan, Cody Scruggs, Erin Seapy, Jason Seapy and wife Christine; great-grandchildren, Reed Coleman, Callie Serfoss, Grant Serfoss, Kendall Serfoss, Amelia Lytle, John Paul Seapy and Ellie Seapy; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Bertha Barrett, Frank and Rhoda Seapy; husband, Charlie Seapy; infant son, Thomas Francis Seapy; great-granddaughter, Hailey Lynn Serfoss; and other family members, Ed Zimmerman, Alice Margaret and Edmond Peters, Mary Frances and Paul Hoover, Doris Lee Feigner.
Visitation will be held at Mercer-Adams, Bethany, OK, 8am-9pm, Wed., Aug 2. Funeral services will be held at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 8140 N.W. 36th St., Bethany at 10:00am, Thurs., Aug. 3. Interment will follow at 2:30pm at Enid Cemetery, 212 W. Willow Rd., Enid, OK.
