Funeral for Herb D. Robinson Sr., 80-year-old Enid resident, will be 10 a.m. today, Feb. 1, 2013, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Chris Markes will officiate. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery.

Herb was born May 16, 1932, in Quinlan, Okla., to Lester and Pearl (Redd) Robinson and died Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Clinton Veteran’s Hospital. Herb worked at Monroe Food Market before being drafted into the United States Army during the Korean War. He served in the Military Police, stationed in Bad Krueznach, Germany. After the service, he returned to Enid and continued in the grocery business at Monroe Food Market, the PX on Vance AFB, and Safeway.

On Dec. 1, 1954, he married Mari-An Smith in Miami, Okla. Herb owned and operated the Frisco Bar from 1974 until 1991. Herb was an avid fan of the Big Band Era.

Herb is survived by his children, Patti Bickerstaff and husband Larry of Guthrie, Okla., Herb Robinson Jr. of Enid, Lisa Cameron and husband Scott of Springfield, Mo., and Lori Grabher and husband Tony of Franklin, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jason Bannister and wife Alicia, Jeremiah Bickerstaff and wife Meggan, Joel Bickerstaff and wife Sara, Susan Lay, Amanda Goode and husband Chris, Dean Robinson and wife Kasiah, Luke Bickerstaff, Carey Haworth and husband Erik, Jeff Cameron and Erin Cameron; also numerous great-grandchildren and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mari-An; one stepson, Mike Lay; and daughter-in-law, Denise Robinson.

The memorial service for Mari-An Robinson, 86-year-old Enid resident, will be 10 a.m. today, Aug. 6, 2008 at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Chris Markes will deliver the eulogy.

Mari-An was born May 30, 1922 in Garden City, KS to James A. Smith and Vivian A. (Mitchell) Smith and died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2008 at her home in Enid. Her mother died when she was very young, and she and her sister were raised by her paternal grandparents. The family lived near Ringwood where Mari-An attended local schools and graduated from Ringwood High School in 1941. She worked for a time as a telephone operator in Fairview. In 1944, she married Roy F. Lay. They later divorced. On Dec. 1, 1954 she married Herbert D. Robinson in Miami, OK. The couple made their home in Enid. She worked for over 20 years at Safeway Supermarket. She and Herb also owned and operated The Frisco Bar from 1976 to 1991. She was very involved in the Foster Grandparent program until her health made it impossible for her to do so.

She is survived by her husband, Herb, of Clinton, OK; her children, Mike Lay of Enid, Patti Bickerstaff and husband Larry of Edmond, Herb Robinson Jr. and wife Denise of Enid, Lisa Cameron and husband Scott of Springfield, MO and Lori Grabher and husband Tony of Franklin, TN; six grandchildren, Susan Lay, Amanda Lane, Dean Robinson, Luke Bickerstaff, Carey Robinson and Erin Cameron; also one niece, Jeann Svarvar.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, parents, and one sister, Margie Ralls.
