Funeral service for Joy H. ROBERTSON, 83-year-old Enid resident, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. R. Joe WILSON will officiate. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery.
Joy was born Jan. 14, 1928, in Enid to Wilhelm Conrad and Nora Olive (BENNETT) JOHNSON and died Thursday, June 16, 2011, at Integris Bass Pavilion. She attended school in Marshall, Okla., graduating from Marshall High School in 1946. On July 16, 1948, she married Cecil ROBERTSON and the couple made their home in Enid. She was employed at Marquis Studio, where she printed and re-touched photographs. She worked there for over 20 years.
She was a long-time member of Oakwood Christian Church. She was a member of numerous organizations including Daughter’s of the American Revolution, Ruth Chapter 447 of Eastern Star, Garfield County Historical Society, Garfield County Genealogical Society, Logan County Genealogical Society and a Charter Member of Enid Social Club. She was an avid bird-watcher and participated in the annual Christmas Bird Count at Great Salt Plains.
Joy is survived by her son, Craig ROBERTSON and wife Mary-Ann of Enid; granddaughters, Jennifer BOUTON and husband Maj. Doug BOUTON of Hamberg, Germany, and Melissa HOLDEMAN of Enid; two great-grandchildren, Cherokey HOLDEMAN and Cooper Timothy BOUTON; one brother, Terry N. JOHNSON of Marshall; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cecil in 1993; and son, Cary Lee.
