Mrs. Walter (Grace) Reed, 74, died Wednesday morning in a local hospital. Her service will be Saturday at 2 PM in Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Duane Moraine and the Rev. Eldon Kirks officiating. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery.
Mrs. Reed was born February 5, 1903, in Chicago. She moved to Missouri with her parents in 1904, and in 1912 to Enid where she attended schools. Following her schooling, she was employed as a clerical worker for the Swift and Company offices of Enid.
The former Grace Williams, she married Walter Reed December 26, 1921. They established their home here and in 1922, established the Enid Motor Lines which they operated until its sale to Santa Fe Trail.
Mrs. Reed was also a clerk in the Garfield County Assessor's office for several years, and was a member of the West – Side Wesleyan Church and Glenwood Neighbors Home Economics Club.
Survivors include her husband, Walter; two sisters, Mrs. Joe (Rachel) Patrick, Enid, and Mrs. Arlo (Virginia) Shelton, Scottsdale, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the West – Side Wesleyan Church Building Fund.
