The Graveside service for Mr. Royce Lee Rasco, Sr.,83, Enid, will be held 12:00 noon Saturday December, 26, 2015 in the Enid Cemetery. The Service celebrating his life will follow at 1:00 P.M. in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend W.C. “Bill” Smith and Pastor Kelly Russell Co officiating. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Graveside Military Honors will be presented by the U.S. Army.
He was born to Trav and Viola Norris Rasco April 18, 1932 in a country home south of Haskell, TX., and moved with his family to Stamford, Texas where he and his future wife, Lilly Neuman attended high School. He served in the U.S. Army as a cook and served most in Stuttgart, Germany. Following his discharge in 1952, he worked in the oilfields in Stamford, Andrews, and LA Mesa, Texas and in Blanding, Utah.
He married Lilly Georgie Neuman on Dec, 17th,1955 in Stamford, Texas. He worked for Frontier Perferators in Pampa, Texas and later for Producers Chemical who transferred him to Enid in the mid 1960's.
He spent twenty-five years with Union Equity at the elevators until retirement. Royce then had part time jobs with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home and driving cars for local car dealers.
Royce and Lilly enjoyed tent camping with their children and later R.V.ing. Royce enjoyed watching all sports but baseball was his favorite.
Royce was a member of the First Baptist Church and helped Lilly in the Preschool Sunday School, the Moose Club, and Coffee Mates Camping Club of Enid.
Royce is survived by his wife of sixty years, Lilly, son, Royce Rasco, Jr. of Enid, daughters, Robin Rasco of Denver, Georgie Rasco and her partner, Sally Blevins of Oklahoma City, two Grandchildren, Royce Lee “Trey” Rasco, III and Miranda Rikli ,two Great Grandchildren, Ziah and Kennedy.
He was preceded in death by seven Brothers and one Sister.
Memorials in his memory may be made to Oklahoma Medical Research, Heart Division with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
