The funeral for Esther June Prentice, 81, of Enid, will be 2 PM Tuesday at Brown – Cummings Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. David Wiggs will officiate. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery.
She was born April 5, 1925, in Enid to James Emmett and Esther June Ehrlich Walker and died Thursday, February 15, 2007, in St. Mary's Regional Medical Center.
She was raised and educated in Enid, graduating from Enid High School in 1943. She attended Phillips University. She married Virgil Prentice September 26, 1948, in Perry. He died February 7, 1992. She worked for Garfield County as third deputy for 12 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Enid, Meadowlake Women's Golf Association, Parent Teacher Association for numerous years, Garden Study Club and Enid Retired Senior Volunteer Program.
Surviving are one son, Douglas Prentice of Enid; one daughter, Barbara Shirazi of Westlake Village, California; one granddaughter; and one grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to R. S. V. P.
