The funeral service for Sharon Pope will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery. Visitation with family will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2017, at the funeral home.
Sharon was born December 5, 1944. to George and Mable (Poe) Neil in El Monte, Calif., and passed away September 19, 2017, in Springfield, Missouri. She attended school in Stafford, Kan., until her sophomore year when the family moved to Enid. After graduating from Enid High, she worked at a nursing home and laundromat. Sharon married Jim Dunn and out of that union they had a daughter, Kim. She later met and married James R. Pope on September 28, 1968, in Enid where the couple happily adopted their son, Robert.
Sharon was a homemaker, involved in her children's school and church activities Sharon moved from Enid to Missouri in 2012, to be closer to family. She was a longtime member of the Christian Church of the Covenant. She enjoyed painting, arts and crafts, entertaining and Christmas, but most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Sharon is survived by daughter, Kim Allen of Missouri; son, Robert Pope and wife, Sara of Calif.; grandchildren, Mandy Winsett, Emily Pope, Natalie Pope, Andrew Pope and Jackson Pope; three sisters, Betty Padrick, Barbera Davis, Georgia Grant and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister; two brothers and three nephews.
