Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Robert B. “Bob” Parks, 90, of Enid, Okla., will be noon Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, at Central Christian Church, with the Rev. Don Johnson and Shannon Speidel officiating. A reception will follow the service. Inurnment will be private at Enid Cemetery. Cremation and service is under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Bob was born Nov. 17, 1924, in Indianna, Pa., the son of Ward D. and Roxie M Burnheimer Parks and passed away at his residence on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015.
He attended Phillips University, where he met the love of his life, Murna E. Case. They were married May 30, 1948. She preceded him in death on Dec. 8, 2000.
Mr. Parks was employed by Union Equity with 43 years of service. He was a member of Central Christian Church, sang in their choir, a deacon and served as a volunteer landscaper for the church. He also was a member of the Men’s Garden Club and The Enid Barbershop Chorus and many barbershop quartets. He will be remembered as a caring man who always put others before himself.
Survivors include three sons, Gailyn and wife Lavada of Alpine, Texas, Darrel and wife Janet of Houston, Texas, and Dennis and wife Patricia of Enid; two daughters, Garlyn Cook of Enid and Anita Green and husband Phil of Dover, Okla.; three grandchildren; niece, Beth Henneke; and nephew, Danny Parks.
Memorial contributions may be made to Central Christian Church, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds.
