The funeral service for Carlos "Joe" W. Otero, 52-year-old Enid resident will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Wayne Bland will officiate. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery .
Joe was born April 27, 1956, in New York City, N.Y., to William and Eva (Boria) Otero and died Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, at his home surrounded by his family.
He attended school in 1978 in New York. He joined the United States Army. He was discharged at Fort Sill, Okla. He attended Vo-Tech School at Fort Cobb for automotive training. He worked for Mac Auto in Fort Cobb.
On July 26, 1988, he married Rudarla Archilta in Enid where the couple made their home . He worked at Expert Tire until illness forced him to retire. He was a member of Grace World Outreach Church.
He is survived by his wife, Rudarla, of the home ; five children, Cecelia Barker of Tulsa, Jerome "J.C." Standing and wife Andrea of Lawton, Jennifer Musick and husband Dustin of Enid, Jamie Priest and husband Zachary of Enid, and Carlos "Joey" Otero and spouse Alicia Osburn, also of Enid; one stepdaughter, Halana Jay; his mother, Eva Phillips of Flushing, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandmother, and one brother, William Otero.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love with the funeral home acting as custodian of the funds.
