Funeral Service for Twyla Bee Montano, 83, Enid, is 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vernon Lee officiating. Interment follows in the Enid Cemetery.

Twyla was born Nov. 6, 1933, the daughter of William W. and Iva Kinsman Miller, and passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2016. She was a graduate of Shattuck High School and then attended Chicago Art Institute and USC in Los Angeles, Calif. Twyla, while serving on the Los Angeles Police Department, met and then married Gene Montano in 1960 in Los Angeles, Calif. He preceded her in death.

Upon returning to Enid, she was the carousal lady at Oakwood Mall and also worked at Advance Pierre foods. Her mission in life was to give a King James Bible to anyone who wanted one. Wherever she moved, she was very politically active with people on both national and local levels.

Survivors include one son, Phillip Montano of Salt Lake City, Utah, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a son, Alex.
