Grace M. Mitchell, 86, 2301 W. Maple, died early Sunday in a local hospital following a short illness. Her service will be Wednesday at 10 AM in Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Irving Smith of First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Enid Cemetery.

Mrs. Mitchell was born June 2, 1892, at Graton, West Virginia and moved at an early age to Hennessey with her parents. She attended schools there. The former Grace Hershberger, she married Roy Mitchell at Hennessey. The couple moved to Enid after World War I.

Mrs. Mitchell was a member of the First United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She was also a member of Group I United Methodist Church Women, Trinity Sunday School Class, and a charter member of the Young at Heart Club.

Survivors include one son, Dr. Leroy J. Mitchell, Enid; one grandson; two great – granddaughters; three brothers, Elmer Hershberger, Gerard, Kansas, Lewis Hershberger, Bentonville, Arkansas, and Orley Hershberger, San Bernardino, California; and one sister, Lottie Crawley, Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan.
