OBITUARY
A graveside service for Perry Leon Melvin, 67, of Enid, will be noon Tuesday in Enid Cemetery. Arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. The Rev. Carrel E. Still and Byron Newfield will officiate. He was born Oct. 18, 1937, at Siloam Springs, Ark. to James Melvin and Dena Vanhuen and died Friday, May 27, 2005, at Greenbrier Nursing Home.
He moved to Enid with his family at age two, where he attended school. He served in the Army from 1955-1958 and married Laura Davidson Dec. 24, 1959. He worked on the flight line at Vance Air Force Base for more than 25 years, where he became leadman in the employment of Northrup and later DynCorp.
Surviving are two daughters, Dena Divelbiss of Bartlesville and Cally Southern of Enid; two sons, Rocky Melvin of Broken Arrow and Donald Melvin; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Laura, and one granddaughter.
