Mrs. Minnie B. McEWEN
The funeral for Mrs. Minnie B. McEwen, 92, will be Tuesday in the Henninger-Allen chapel with Rev. Lloyd H. Lambert officiating and burial will be in the Enid Cemetery beside her husband.
She died Saturday in a local hospital after a long period of ill health.
Born in Paola, Kansas Sept. 16, 1877, she was raised there and attended school. Following school she married Arch M. McEwen on Jan. 22, 1895. McEwen came to Oklahoma in Feb. of that year and she followed shortly after he established a home south west of Drummond. They left the United States to live in Cuba for five years while McEwen operated three plantations and a grocery store in Cuba. Upon their return to the states they came to Enid where she has lived since. Folowing the death of her husband she has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Lewis T. " Nelle" Smith.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1844, a daughter, Maebelle, and a son, John. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. L. T. Smith of Enid, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
