Henry D. Manning Sr., 83, 608 S. 8th died Saturday evening in a local hospital following several months of illness. His service will be 2 PM Tuesday in Russworm Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. B. Mucker officiating. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery.

Manning was born November 28, 1895, in Hillsboro, Texas, and at an early age moved to Oklahoma with his parents. He married Carrie Mewfee in 1916. She died December 25, 1960. A farmer in the Drummond community until 1941, he had moved the family to Enid in 1932. He was a carpenter by trade until ill health forced him to retire.

Survivors include two sons, Henry Jr. and Harold, both of Enid; two daughters, Mrs. Corine Cole, Enid, and Mrs. Mae Ellen Hunter, Wichita, Kansas; 18 grandchildren; 31 great – grandchildren; one great – great – grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife, Carrie, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
