Inola – the funeral for Jesse P. Maner, 53, will be at 10 AM Wednesday in the Chapel of the Ladusau – Evans Funeral Home. The Rev. Howard Snell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Enid Cemetery.

He was born June 6, 1944, in Austin, Texas, to Alfred and Bertha Dill Maner and died Sunday, September 14, 1997, near Inola from injuries received in an automobile accident.

In 1958 he had moved to Enid from Locust Grove. He attended Free Home School and Carrier School. He served in the United States Army for four years, serving during the Korean conflict.

On May 8, 1965, he married Linda Morrow. He worked at Champlin Refinery for 15 years, also working as shop foreman at Arnold's R.V. Most recently, he worked as a mechanic for Ellsworth Freight Line. He had worked with foster children for 14 years and for a short time as a pastor of the Ames Assembly of God.

Surviving are two daughters, Patty Johnson and Rebecca Johns, both of Enid; one son, Tim of Enid; four sisters, Virginia Estes of Kremlin, Louise Toews and Gertie Maner, both of Enid, Bertie Moore of Billings; seven brothers, Burgess of Stillwater, Herschel of Austin, Texas, Grant of LeAnder, Texas, Luther of Billings, Russell of Prior, G. P. of Locust Grove and C.W. of Flint Ridge; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
