A. T. Loomis Claimed By Death Wed.

A. T. Loomis, for more than 30 years a resident of Garfield County and a veteran of the Civil War, died early yesterday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. William Hobbs, 524 N. Madison.

Mr. Loomis, father of C. E. and O. A. Loomis, Enid businessmen, had been in failing health for more than a year. Last week he lapsed into a comatose state and never regained consciousness.

Mr. Loomis was a native of Canton, Pennsylvania. He and his parents moved to Iowa and when he was eight years old. He lived in Iowa until he moved to a farm north of Enid in 1901. Mr. Loomis farmed for many years and for many years was a Sexton of the Enid Cemetery. He was a member of Company D of the 45th Iowa Infantry in the Civil War and a member of the local G. A. R. post for many years.

Surviving Mr. Loomis are two sons and daughter in this city; a third son, G. O. Loomis, Beaumont, Texas; eight grandchildren and seven great – grandchildren. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made. The body is being cared for at the Henninger Funeral Home.
