The funeral for Lester Lee Leatherman, age 91, will be at 2:00 PM Monday, February 27, 2012, at Garland Road Church of Christ, with Gordon Jantz and Randall Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery. Visitation with family will be Sunday 4:00 to 5:30 PM at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.
Lester was born, one of eight children, to Frank and Belle Mae (Vance) Leatherman on March 10, 1920, at the family farm near Gray, Oklahoma, and passed away Thursday, February 23, 2012, in Enid.
Lester married Mildred Wallin on August 14, 1943, in Liberal, Kansas. He began farming and ranching in the Balko area. He was also a custodian at Balko School, Perryton School, First National Bank, and retired from North Plains Electric in 1982. Lester was blessed with great health for 91 years, and loved his Lord and family. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife Mildred of the home; four children, Larry and wife Judy of Erie, Colorado, Ruby and husband George Tritschler of Enid, Kay and Kenny Waggoner of Stillwater, Rhonda and husband Darrell Tope of Tulsa; grandchildren, Chris (Kylee) Leatherman and their children Alex and Bobby; Keri (Duane) Liddeke and their children Kash and Kruce; Lanee (Jeff) Anderson and their children Alissia, Kailey and Kressa; Sheri (Brian) Eilert, and their children, Andrew, Logan, Emily and Daniel; Jeanne (Chris) Forman and their children Samuel, Lucas and Isaac; Misty (Dion) Hayes and their children Taylor, Kinsey and Graysen; Tim (Kim) Waggoner and their children Brandon (Jayce and Braden) Brittany and Ashley; Tina (Dave) Bakken and daughter MaKayley; Trisha (Mark) Glenn and their children Bryce, Julie and Jeffrey; Christie (Michael) Stallings and their children Michaela and Cora; Katherine (Zac) Jones; three sisters, Joy LaTour and Eva Outhier, both of Lubbock, and Ollie Friesen of Russell, Kansas.
Lester was preceded in death by parents Frank and Belle Mae Leatherman, brothers, True, Paul, and Kenneth Leatherman; and sister Cora Leatherman.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love.
