The funeral for Anne Louise Gottschall Larsen, 92, of Enid, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Davis Park Christian Church. Pastor Alan Seibel will officiate. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery. Arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. She was born Oct. 19, 1915, in Cherry County, Neb., to Claude F. and Maggie Arminda Hobbs Gottschall and died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2008, at Anthony Community Care Center, Anthony, Kan.

She attended first through third grade in a one-room country school near the family ranch in Nebraska. She moved with her family to Enid in 1925, where she attended Kenwood Elem-entary School and Emerson Junior High School and graduated from Enid High School in 1933. She attended Phillips University in 1933, transferring to Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1935 and graduating in 1936 with a bachelor of sacred literature degree. She returned to Enid in 1936 and began work at the Social Security Office. In 1936, she began a career with the Salvation Army in Tulsa. She entered Salvation Army Training College in Atlanta in 1938. In May 1939, she was commissioned as a lieutenant, receiving her first appointment in the family service office in Oklahoma City. She also was the commanding officer in Duncan.

She married Vince Larsen April 24, 1944. They moved back to Enid in 1959, where she received her master’s degree and teaching certification in elementary education in 1962. She received her second master’s degree in special education in 1965 and retired from the Enid Public Schools in 1983. She was a member of Davis Park Christian Church.

Surviving are three sons, Vincel W. Larsen of Oklahoma City, Jon G. Larsen of Ringwood and Stevan E. Larsen of Yukon; two daughters, Karen L. Tonso of Detroit and Minda Rodriguez of Galesburg, Ill.; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband of 47 years, Vince, she was preceded in death by three sisters.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Davis Park Christian Church.
