A Celebration of Life for only the immediate family of Kirby A. Kreie, age 70, of Enid, will be 10:00 am, Saturday, May 2, 2020, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Dennis Kreie officiating. Burial will follow in Enid Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusua-Evans Funeral Home.
Kirby was born June 27, 1949, in Enid to Ralph and Florence (Burchfield) Kreie and passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26, 2020, in Enid.
Kirby graduated from Garber High School in 1967 then attended Oklahoma State University where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. He married Janet Key on November 17, 1972, at the First Nazarene Church of Enid. They have two sons, Brian W. Kreie and Douglas E. Kreie. Kirby owned and operated K&K Excavation for 40 years before retiring in 2015. He was an avid camper; and was very involved in his son's Boy Scout Troop 25. He helped his son Brian earn his Eagle Scout Award. Kirby and Janet loved to go boating at Beaver Lake and traveling to various places.
Kirby is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Florence Kreie; and a sister, Sandra Sue Southwick. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janet, of the home in Enid; two sons, Brian W. and Julie Kreie of Enid; Douglas E. Kreie, of Pueblo, CO; three grandsons, Dylan, Taylor, and Dominick; and brother, Rev. Dennis Kreie and wife Celia, of Duncan, OK; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Kirby was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all.
Memorial contributions in Kirby's name may be made to the Harold Hamm Diabetes Foundation with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
