Graveside services for Ray E. King, 86, who died in a local nursing home late Monday, will be at 2 PM Thursday in the Enid Cemetery with the Rev. John Matthiesen officiating.
Services will be under the direction of the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.
King was born December 31, 1889, in Cuba, Kansas, and moved with his parents to Billings in 1902. He moved to Enid in 1924 and was employed by the old Criterion theater as an advertising man, then worked at W. B. Johnston Feed Company before moving to California in 1936.
King was a purchasing agent for a San Jose, California, hospital until his retirement in 1960, when he returned to Enid. He lived at the Youngblood Hotel until moving to the Greenbrier Nursing Home. He was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include a son, Douglas W. King of Sacramento, California; a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Wendle of Sacramento; a step – daughter, Mrs. Beverly Waters, San Jose; three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Sergeant, Newton, Kansas, and Mrs. Nettie Patton of Wichita, Kansas, and Mrs. Florence Stranathan, Enid; six grandchildren and eight great – grandchildren.
