Funeral services for Loran W. King, 84, will be at 4 PM Tuesday in the Chapel of the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home with Dr. John Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the Enid Cemetery.
King died in a local hospital early Sunday evening. He was born at Cuba, Kansas, moving with his parents to Billings in 1908. He later moved to Waynoka in 1909 where he married Bessie A. Davidson that same year. She preceded him in death on September 24, 1970.
The Kings moved to Enid in 1923 and he traveled for the Fisk Tire Company for six years. He went to work for Champlin's in 1929 in their tire department, and worked for them 25 years. His last five years he served as manager of the department.
King served on the Garfield County Fair Board for approximately 6 years and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: one daughter, Mrs. Charles (LaNora) Meredith, 917 W. York; two granddaughters; one brother, Ray King, Enid; three sisters, Mrs. R. E. Stranathan, Enid; Mrs. R. C. Patton, Wichita, Kansas, and Mrs. J. N. Sergeant, Newton, Kansas; three great – grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Loran W. (Bessie A.) King, 85, a resident of Enid since 1923, died Thursday in a local hospital following a long illness.
A native of Arlington, Kansas, where she was born January 25, 1885, Mrs. King moved to Oklahoma when her parents homesteaded a farm in what is now Waynoka.
She and Loran W. King were married in Waynoka in 1909 and lived there for a number of years before moving to Oklahoma City.
Mrs. King was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Dr. Robert J. Smith will officiate at her funeral rites Saturday at 2 PM in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be in the Enid Cemetery.
Mrs. King is survived by her husband Loran of the home at 917 W. York; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (LaNora) Meredith, Enid; two granddaughters, one great – granddaughter and a niece, Mrs. LaVern Rogers, Waynoka.
