Alton A. "Red" Kennedy, 65, 120 W. Cedar, died Monday afternoon in an Enid hospital following a period of ill health. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Friday in the Chapel of the Brown Funeral Home with Rev. James E. Sanders and Dr. R. G. Trent officiating. Burial will be in the Enid Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Home.

He was born at Osage, Oklahoma, and came to Enid in 1918 and had lived here since that time. He was united in marriage to Maurine Casebier on October 8, 1936 at Medford. He owned and operated the American Mattress Factory in Enid for many years. He was later employed by the Zaloudek Implement Company for 15 years, retiring in 1971. He was a member of the Central United Methodist Church.

Survivors are his wife, of the home, two sons, Darwin and Phillip D. Both of Enid; one daughter, Mrs. Oza (Phyllis) Marshall, Enid; two brothers, Marvin, Enid, and Edward, Medford; two sisters, Mrs. George Burdick, Enid, and Mrs. Lloyd Janssen, Greeley, Colorado; five grandchildren

Mrs. Elton A. (Maurine) Kennedy, 120 W. Cedar, died Monday in a local hospital. Her service will be at 10 AM Thursday in the Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James A. Williams and the Rev. Tom Buck officiating. Burial will follow in the Enid Cemetery.

Mrs. Kennedy was born and reared in Hennessey, later moving to Enid where she had since lived. In 1936, she married Elton A. Kennedy at Medford. He died December 23, 1974.

Mrs. Kennedy was an employee of Mid-– Western Inn Motel the past 12 years as head housekeeper, and was a member of the Central United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Darwin, Colorado Springs, Colorado and Phillip, Enid; one daughter, Mrs. Thomas A. (Phyllis) Baker Jr., Kremlin; one brother, Wendell Casebier, Colorado Springs, Colorado; seven grandchildren; and one great – grandchild.
