The graveside service for Charles E. Jones, 84 year-old Enid resident, is 2 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017, in the Enid Cemetery Chapel. Gordon Jantz will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Charles was born Feb. 12, 1933, in Fredrick, to Oscar and Clara (Tucker ) Jones and died Wednesday, March 1, 2017, in the Commons in Enid. He attended schools in Wellington, Texas, graduating with the class of 1950. On Jan. 8, 1952, he married Aline Ruth Bass in Hollis. The couple lived in Wellington, Texas, briefly before relocating to Medford. There, Charles worked with Buzz Webster at the Champlain Station. In 1968, they moved to Enid where Charles was an Independent truck-drive, hauling gasoline and jet-fuel for over 30 years. On March 26, 1971, he married Ava "Bim" Jones. He was a long-time member of the North Garland Church of Christ. He volunteered his time to many charities, including working the food bank through his church and driving the St. Mary's Saintmobile. He was a member of AACA (Antique Automobile Club of America), (ATHS) American Truck Historical Society, and Specialty T. Model T. Ford Club. This was his passion and he toured with his clubs often.

He is survived by three daughters, Kathy Snowden, of Enid, Regina Powell, Enid, and Mary Jordan and husband John of Tahlequah. His son Mark Jones and wife Betty, of Enid. 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, one sister, Myra June Nichols of Hemphill, Texas, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bim, one brother Roy, two sisters, Maxine and Joyce, and one great-grandson Brentyn.

Memorials may be made through Henninger-Hinson to OMRF(Alzheimer's Division).
