Mrs. Myrtle E. Cox Hutchison, 77, who had lived at 401 W. Wabash since 1938, died Tuesday evening in a local hospital after an illness of several months.

She was born in a sod house 4 1/2 miles south of Fairmont and attended the Bank country school. The family moved to Enid in 1922.

She and Jim Hutchison were married October 17, 1927 in Perry. He died December 31, 1972. Mrs. Hutchison worked for several years at Doug's lunch counter in the Broadway Tower. She was a longtime member of the Davis Park Christian Church and the Home Builders Sunday School Class.

Mrs. Hutchison is survived by two grandsons, Steve L. Hutchison of Yukon and Greg N. Hutchison, Gunnison, Colorado; a great – grandson, David L. Hutchison of Yukon and a brother, Ralph C. Cox of Enid; a daughter – in – law, Pat Hutchison Whitt of Enid; a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jack Hutchison on February 14, 1953; by six brothers and six sisters.

Her funeral will be at 10 AM Friday in the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel with Paul J. Enabnit and Rik Bartlett, ministers of the Davis Park Christian Church, officiating. She will be buried in the Enid Cemetery.

Mrs. Hutchison's family has suggested that those who wish contribute to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Cancer Division, in her memory. The funeral home will serve as custodian of the Memorial fund.
