Dean Hornbaker, 59, 1702 Indian Dr., died Saturday evening in a local hospital following a short illness. His service will be at 2 PM Tuesday in St. Mathews Episcopal Church with the Rev. Barney Jackson, rector, officiating. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery under direction of Brown Funeral Home.

Hornbaker was born at Medford and came to Enid with his family. He graduated from Enid high school in 1938, and from Oklahoma State University with a degree in business administration. During World War II, he served with the Army Air Corps in the Pacific theater. Following the war, he returned to the Enid where he was employed with Failing's until he became one of the founders of Mutual Warehouse which he was a partner until 1957. Since 1958, he had been with Champlin Petroleum Company. At the time of his death he was in the Credit Department as a credit representative.

In 1949, Hornbaker married Eleanor Hoehn in Enid. He was a member of St. Mathews Episcopal Church, Argonne Post No. 4 American Legion, Enid Rotary Club, and had been a pack leader of the Taft Grade School Scout Pack.

Survivors include his wife, Eleanor; one son, Zachary of the home; his mother, Mrs. Ed Gillespie, Blackwell; and one brother, Marvin, Midwest City.

Memorials may be made to St. Mathews Episcopal Church, building fund.
