OBITUARY
Marie Kathryn Holtmann, 87, died in a local nursing home Thursday morning after a period of ill health.
She was born Sept. 20, 1887 in Westgate, Iowa,the daughter of Steve and Mary Mandalek and grew up in Coal City, Illinois, moving to a farm southwest of Shattuck in 1910. She and J. H. Holtmann were married Nov. 14, 1911 in Goodwin and he died in 1949. They pastored various churches in Northwest Okla. including Woodward and Selmon, before moving to Enid in 1912.
Mrs. Holtmann was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She is survived by two daughters, Esther Reim and Adalyn Krienke; a son Ervan J. Holtmann; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Soderberg; and Mrs. Emma Melzer; ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren.
Two son, two brothers, a sister and a granddaughter, preceded her in death.
Her funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Harry Soper officiating. She will be buried in the Enid Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
