ENID, OK — Funeral for Julia E. Hobbs, 88-year-old Enid resident, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Enid Cemetery. Reverend Vernon Lee will officiate. Service under direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Julia was born April 25, 1926, in Canton, OK, to Tobias and Anna (Rimer) Sontag and died Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Enid Senior Care.
After attending rural Longdale schools, she married Raymond R. Smith February 6, 1946, in Fairview. He preceded her in death in 1989.
On July 5, 1990, she married Everett Hobbs in Enid.
She was a member of 1st Pentecostal Church of God. She enjoyed growing her yellow and red roses, reading her Bible, singing gospel hymns and praising the Lord.
Julia is survived by her daughter, Viola Shaffner of Enid; grandchildren, Rodney Eugene Bowden and his fiancée Ladonna Bright of Enid, Renay Mae Wilson of Wichita, KS, Nathen Allen Bowden and Angela Hope Bowden both of CA; and one brother, Lenard Sontag of Enid.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands; son Raymond Rodney Smith; and daughter Nadine Smith.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to OMRF (heart division).
