Mrs. Martin (Lucy E.) Helema, 93, a resident of Enid since 1907, died late Wednesday night in a local hospital. She had been in ill health for the past two years and had been in the hospital for the past two weeks.

Mrs. Helema was born in Jewel County, Kansas, January 25, 1877. She came with her parents to a farm near Hennessey where she lived until she married Martin Helema in February, 1894.

In 1907 they moved to Enid, and she placed her membership in the Central Christian Church of which she had been an active member as long as her health allowed.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. H. H. (Mabel) Henson and Miss Florel Helema, both of Enid, and Mrs. Herbert (Alice) Corke, Gusville, Arkansas; one sister, Mrs. Jess (Mary) McGee, Bison; two grandchildren and four great – grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 3 PM Friday in the Chapel of the Central Christian Church with Rev. Lloyd Lambert officiating. Burial will be in Enid Cemetery under the direction of the Fossett Funeral Home.

The body will lie in state in the Chapel of the funeral home until 1:45 Friday and at the church until service time. The casket will not be opened following the service.
