Tom Hedges died suddenly in his home at 823 W. Wabash early Wednesday morning. His funeral rites will be at 2:30 PM Friday in the Central United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rowlan and Dr. R. G. Great officiating.
Burial will be in the Enid Cemetery under the direction of the Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.
Hedges was born in Missouri and moved to Oklahoma at an early age with his parents, the family settling east of Enid. He farmed and was a stockman in the surrounding area, moving to Enid 35 years ago.
He and Lottie Weibel were married June 18, 1933, in Enid. Hedges was a longtime member of the Central United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife Claira September, 1929, six brothers and a grandson.
Survivors include his wife Lottie; a son, Lon Hedges of Perry; two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Iola) Wyatt, Dallas, Texas, Mrs. Eddie Gutowski, Perry; a step son, Dean L. Murrow, Wichita, Kansas; 10 grandchildren; four great – grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. George L. (Elma) McGregory, Oklahoma City.
