Ivan S. Harrington, 85, 406 W. Pine, died early Friday morning.
Born in independence, Iowa, he later moved with his family to Parsons, Kansas, where he attended school.
On February 20, 1916, he married Emma Chappelear, moving to Enid in 1918 where the couple resided since.
An accountant for 37 years with Champlin Petroleum Company, Harrington was also a well-known organist who broadcast music for KCRC from his home for many years.
He also performed as an organist for First Presbyterian Church from 1939-70, for the Rotary Club during 2 1/2 decades, and for the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.
He was an avid wedding photographer, and participated in mobile trailer club convoys to 48 states and Canada. Harrington was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Rotary Club, and Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jean Harrington of the home; and two nephews, Wilber Harrington of Garden Grove, California and Kenneth J. Harrington of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Services will be 2 PM Monday in the First United Methodist Church, Rev. B. Orville Parham and Dr. Leslie G. Everitt officiating. Interment will be in the Enid Cemetery under direction of the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home, which is also acting as custodian for memorial funds designated by the family for the First United Methodist Church.
Mr. Harrington will lie in state at the Henninger – Allen funeral home until 12:30 PM.
